Keeping our heads above water!

NorthWay offices are temporarily closed due to extreme water damage! A pipe above NorthWay ruptured, sending thousands and thousand of gallons of water (and the ceiling) into our offices. We can access email and voicemail but all meetings have been moved to new locations. Please be patient as clean-up continues. We hope to re-open by the end of March. Leadership training for North Minneapolis youth starts MARCH 10

There are still a few places left for motivated youth to participate in an intensive leadership training program that teaches valuable lifelong skills and serves as a foundation for success. The training program includes dinners and a $100 stipend upon completion of the program and group project.

There are two sessions, which combine for the last two classes. Youth can sign up for either March session, and then must attend both April classes. The dates are:

Monday-Thursday, March 10-13, 5-7:30pm
or
Monday-Thursday, March 17-20, 5-7:30pm
concluding with
Tuesday, April 8 and Tuesday, April 15, 5-7:30pm

Victory Neighborhood hosts Grow North meeting

On Wednesday, March 26 at 7pm, the Victory Neighborhood Association will present the Northside Neighborhood Alliance (NNA)’s Grow North Market Scan report at its regular monthly meeting. The meeting will be held at St John Missionary Baptist Church, 4301 Thomas Ave. No. All those interested are invited to attend, see the PowerPoint presentation and offer feedback.

Women Venture, in partnership with NorthWay Community Trust, is bringing Financial Literacy Services to North Minneapolis. FREE classes (held on Wednesdays, starting in May) will help you become empowered and in control of your money. You’ll learn how to:

Replication Collaborative continues to explore program feasibility

The Replication Collaborative (Subzero Collective, Minneapolis Downtown Council, Grassroots Public Policy Institute, NorthWay Community Trust and other strategic partners) provides an update on the progress to establish a Manchester Bidwell Center for Arts and Technology model in North Minneapolis.
